Applecross
Wastewater Treatment Facility

The Applecross wastewater treatment system was designed to handle a large upscale residential development, as well as numerous surrounding communities. The wastewater facility is located at the main entrance into the community so aesthetics was of utmost importance. The facility includes an influent pump station, screen room, SBR reactors, disc filter, UV disinfection, chemical feed systems, odor control systems, emergency generator, and drip disposal with options for stream and lagoon discharge. Currently all recycled wastewater is being used for golf course irrigation.
The facility has numerous outbuildings including a control building, electrical and chemical buildings, and a large steel building covering the reactors. Extensive electrical, instrumentation, and controls were utilized throughout the project.
